In the spirit of my previous blog post I tried something new and that's to clean up my messy illustrations. I came up with this somehow more "commercial" illustration. The thing that it's missing here is my personal touch. It's more generic with very little me in it. In the future I will try to correct that.
It's almost a year that I've been posting stuff on this blog and this has given me a good position to look back on my work in the field of illustration. And if I am honest I am not proud on a single thing on it. Nothing really stuck with me when I looked at it as a whole. I would pretty much like to start over, but I'm not sure if this would be such a good idea because here and there I have found some techniques that I like and only by looking back through my blog I've been able to get a perspective on my drawings. So fuck it. But I am more than pleased that this blog has given me a motivation to draw and I shall continue to do so because I enjoy it.
I made the design for Real Life version debut album. This is the original design, that in the end people from Real life version changed. They kept the illustrations and changed the layout, font and image sizes.
I made this tasteless illustration for my dear friend Žiga Artnak, who is now spending his days in a foreign country. I used a technique of applying hot gold to paper. This peace is now priceless like memories are.
In this one I tried to find a way to draw or paint quickly anything that comes to mind. I tried doing so in the previous post, but it didn't came out good. I'm far more satisfied with this one. It's a quick sketch with a pencil and in some parts acrylic paint.
It's been almost two months since I've drawn anything !!! The two main things that were holding me back are over - student exams and the Sun and I'm pretty happy now. Here it is the new post...
I haven't done a painting like this for a long time. Working with real colors and materials is an experience of its own. You have more limitations as to how the materials behave (the color dries quickly when working with acrylics), but the results are much more real.
When I was looking through my previous posts I realized I don't have any nude girls on my blog. I do now. The name Gamma Ray comes from the Beck song I was listening to meanwhile drawing.
I see this guy as a vilan/hero who cuts people in peaces with his scissors for doing bad things. I wanted to play around little with drawing anatomy on this character.
